Chatsworth Nature Preserve is holding an Earth Day Open House event on Saturday, April 27, 2024 from 10am – 3pm. It is the only Nature Preserve in the City of Los Angeles.
The opening ceremony will include a Native American blessing. Activities include guided nature hikes, storytelling, live animal exhibitions, and an environmental & community resource fair.
Attendees should bring hats, water bottles, sunscreen and comfortable shoes. No dogs, drones, smoking or bikes are allowed.
Parking is at 10600 Valley Circle Blvd, west of Plummer St. Entry fee is $6 on Valley Circle Blvd. Additional parking information is at ladwp.com/CNPearthday.
Sign language interpreters and assistive listening devices are available if requested 72 hours prior to the event. The event is co-sponsored by LA City Councilmembers Lee, Raman, the LA Department of Water and Power, and the Santa Monica Mountains Conservancy.
Location and Parking: To join the celebration, enter the chain-link fence gate on Valley Circle Blvd., just southwest of the curve where Plummer St. turns into Valley Circle Blvd. Parking is available near the gate along the street’s shoulder.
No bikes, pets, dogs or horses are allowed inside the nature preserve. Do wear tennis shoes or hiking boots, hats, and bring sunscreen and refillable water bottles.
