Celebrate African American and Black History Month by learning about the Underground Railroad and Freedom Quilts. It is believed secret codes and symbols were sewn into quilts and used as visual maps to assist fugitive slaves in their escape to freedom. Join us in learning the history of these brave men and women and create your own quilt squares using simple sewing techniques. For ages 12 – 17.
