Celebrate the nation’s 250th anniversary at the 63rd annual Tehachapi Mountain Festival, held on the third weekend of August as it has been since 1963. This year’s theme, “American Pies and Small Town Ties,” was created by Krista Kenehan, with winning artwork by Chelsea Aamold. Produced by the Greater Tehachapi Chamber of Commerce, the festival is the largest of the mountain community’s beloved special events, drawing thousands for a weekend packed with a parade, entertainment, arts, crafts, delicious food and more.

Explore more than 80 vendors selling jewelry, toys, decor, clothing and accessories, alongside booths from local organizations and businesses. A private family booth hosted by Family Life Pregnancy Center offers a space for parents to feed and change their babies. Enjoy live entertainment, a beer garden with an assortment of beverage options, and the shade of the park’s many trees and its charming gazebo.

Festival Schedule

  • Saturday, Aug. 15: 10 a.m.–5 p.m., kicking off with the ever-popular parade at 10 a.m. and headlined by the acclaimed band Blue Mountain Tribe
  • Sunday, Aug. 16: 10 a.m.–4 p.m.

The park just east of downtown sets the stage for two full days of family fun.
