Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month by creating your own Yarn Painting (Nierikas) inspired by the art of the Huichol. Descendants of the Aztec, the Huichol people number about 18,000, and mostly live in the sierra of Jalisco and Nayarit, Mexico. Traditionally made from tree resin and beeswax, you’ll make your own nierikas with colorful cotton yarn and glue.

Hispanic Heritage Month recognizes and celebrates the culture, contributions, and heritage of Hispanic Americans and is observed from September 15 to October 15. Join us and make your own colorful yarn art!
