Just 1.5-2 hours from Lancaster, the world-class museums of Los Angeles's Exposition Park offer an incredible day of discovery and learning. The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County and the California Science Center sit side-by-side in this cultural campus, providing hours of interactive exhibits, fascinating collections, and hands-on science experiences. Best of all, general admission to the California Science Center is free year-round, making this an accessible adventure for families of any size.

This authentic educational experience goes beyond simple museum browsing - both institutions offer immersive exhibits where you'll explore everything from dinosaur fossils and gem collections to space shuttles and earthquake simulators. The Natural History Museum features the iconic Dinosaur Hall with complete T-Rex and Triceratops skeletons, while the California Science Center houses the Space Shuttle Endeavour and a vast array of interactive science displays. Most exhibits are open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., though checking websites ahead is recommended as special exhibits may require timed tickets.
