Drawings have provided the basis for much artistic activity and creativity over the centuries. In this 30-minute presentation, curator Julian Brooks explores five drawings from Getty’s superlative collection, talking about each sheet for only five minutes. Brooks highlights what makes each work so extraordinary, why and how it was made, and will ask some questions to encourage a deeper dive. The five drawings can be enjoyed in the West Pavilion galleries, in a new acquisitions display and the exhibition Learning to Draw.
