DESCRIPTION:The City of Palmdale is putting power in the hands of local you
 th with its Fight Fentanyl Antelope Valley Summer Youth Program. This free
 \, three-day initiative is designed to inform and inspire local teens to m
 ake a difference in the fight against fentanyl and substance abuse. \n\n
  \n\nThe program will be held concurrently at two locations: the Palmdale
  Oasis Park Recreation Center\, 3850 E. Avenue S\, and the Lancaster Commu
 nity Center\, 44611 Yucca Ave. from Tuesday\, July 29 to Thursday\, July 3
 1 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. It is open to youth in grades 6 through 12. Teens 
 will gain critical knowledge about resisting peer pressure\, managing stre
 ss and recognizing the dangers of fentanyl\, all in a safe\, supportive an
 d innovative environment.\n\n \n\n“We’re not just educating our youth
 \, we’re giving them the tools to become advocates and changemakers agai
 nst deadly drugs in our community\,” said Mayor Pro Tem Laura Bettencour
 t. “This program can help save lives all while providing a positive envi
 ronment where teens can make lasting friendships and develop leadership sk
 ills. This summer\, our youth can be part of something bigger than themsel
 ves.”\n\n \n\nFight Fentanyl Summer Youth Program features workshops le
 d by prevention experts\, interactive sessions on drug resistance and stre
 ss management. Plus\, all teens receive free breakfast and lunch daily and
  have chances to win gift cards and local event tickets. \n\n \n\nRegist
 ration is required and spots are limited\, so early sign-up is encouraged.
