SUMMARY:City of Palmdale E-Waste Recycling Event
DESCRIPTION:The City of Palmdale is excited to offer residents the chance t
 o give their old electronics a second life at a free drive-thru recycling 
 event on Saturday\, April 18\, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the northwest park
 ing lot of the Palmdale Transportation Center\, located at 39000 Clock Tow
 er Plaza Dr.\n\nThis easy-access collection event allows residents to disp
 ose of old or damaged electronics from their vehicles\, diverting waste fr
 om local landfills. Organizers will accept various devices\, including lap
 tops\, tablets\, cell phones\, monitors and assorted cables or wires. Howe
 ver\, the event will not accept household batteries\, lightbulbs\, medical
  waste or other hazardous materials. All items will be recycled at no cost
  to prevent toxic substances from contaminating the soil and water supply.
 \n\n“Accessible renewable solutions are essential to protecting our envi
 ronment\,” said Mayor Eric Ohlsen. “We’re proud to ensure that our r
 esidents have the resources available to properly do their part in keeping
  the community clean.”\n\nThe event is presented in partnership with Hom
 eboy Electronics Recycling\, which provides on-the-job training and employ
 ment for people who face systemic barriers to work\, along with gang rehab
 ilitation and re-entry program support.\n\nPalmdale hosts frequent communi
 ty recycling events to help residents dispose of hazardous waste and partn
 ers with certified organizations\, such as Homeboy Electronics\, to ensure
  responsible e-waste processing. These programs ensure valuable materials 
 are recovered and reused while preventing toxic substances from entering t
 he environment.\n\nThe drive-thru event is open to all residents within th
 e city limits and does not require an appointment.\n\nFor more information
